A thankful heart has a continual feast

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You *WHILE I LIVE*; I will lift up my hands in Your name.—Psalm 63:3-4
I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord. Psalm 118:17

How can we NOT stand in awe!?!   How can we NOT live life with grateful hearts.

*MY RESPONSE* is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit--not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength-- that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!  Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.  God can do anything, you know--far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!  Ephesians 3:14-20

If you have breath in your lungs then you MUST know that you OWE Him your devotion, your praise, your attention.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!" (Psalm 107:1)
Grateful for His goodness alone.  Because of who He is.

Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits-- Psalm 103:2  (Those benefits and blessings that He gives us DAILY!  Psalm 68:19.  Every day is FULL of His gifts.  His goodness and mercy *follow* me all the days of my life.  Psalm 23:6.   :)

I need no other reason to be grateful.

Thank you.

The Word of God coming to LIFE

When is the last time the Word of God really came ALIVE for you?

When is the last time it came *ALIVE* INSIDE of you?

Has it ever???

Hebrews 4:12 says "For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the [a]breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."

There is LIFE in the Word of God!!!!!!!!!!!!   POWER manifested inside of us and in our lives by the very Words of God.  The kind of power that can do something supernatural inside of you, through you, and on your behalf.

God's very Words coming to LIFE!

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Something supernatural happens when we put our FAITH in the Word of God to action.    It's not just enough to BELIEVE God will do what He says He will do.  It's not just enough to CONFESS the word with our mouths.  We have to put our FAITH to action.

James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

If you want the Word of God to come ALIVE in your life, in your circumstances, inside of YOU!!!!.....then PUT IT TO THE TEST................ACT like it's True!!!

Don't just BELIEVE it.....put your Faith to ACTION!  And see if it doesn't come to life inside of you and in your circumstances in ways you've not yet seen!!!

Then.......let your testimony be that of someone who is living in the Truth of God's word.
Walking, moving, breathing and living in the Truth of God!!!!  So that when people look at you they will see God's Word alive in you and want some of THAT for themselves!!!!!  God works wonders for HIS name's sake.  So that the WORLD might KNOW Him!!!

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the
WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY.

Daddy SAID so

Yesterday I was not feeling well. Thinking that a brisk walk would do me some good...I took my daughter with me and we went to the park.  After a few laps around the track my head felt dizzy and I began to feel too weak to walk.  I sat down and she asked me if I was feeling sick.  I told her I wasn't feeling very well and before I could say another word she asked me if she could pray for me.  She laid her precious little hands on me and prayed the purest, most honest, confident prayer I ever heard her pray.  It was short.  It was simple.

But it was BOLD.
She finished with a hearty AMEN.  I thanked her.  She matter of factly said, "You're welcome!  Now you will be better."  And she walked off and left me to play on the playground.

Case closed.
Matter settled.

I had to smile.  I thought of the beauty of the faith of a child.  There was no doubt in her mind that God would answer her little prayer.  Her words reach the very heart of God and He is moved on behalf of them.
By her words no less than by YOURS or anyone else's.

That is why God asks us to come to Him as little children.  With confident unwavering hope.  Bold Daring Belief.  In need of Him.  Not always having the answers we are looking for.  Not always understanding.  But going to Him, walking with Him, hand in hand, like a little child and finding peace and rest in KNOWING Him.  That His Word will never fail.  Being confident believing that because Daddy said so.....that's enough!

He gets the last Word.  Case closed.

There's no crying in FOOTBALL!

We were playing football one day---adults AND kids. At EVERY play (without fail) there was some little rooter crying.  I am sure that I said a half dozen times or MORE----"THERE'S NO CRYING IN FOOOOOTBAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!"    It began to get rather ridiculous....but hilarious at the same time.

After that night though every now and then when my children would get over-emotional....I would say that...and we all would laugh (or they would get frustrated with me and I would laugh!!!! HAHA :))

Today my husband walked in the door and I collapsed in his arms. He patted me on the back and said, "Aww it's okay....just cry it out. cry it out."   Yes.  I did want to cry.  I was tired.  Instead I heard my own voice resonating loudly in my head and I burst out laughing and said-----"what?!?!?------THERE'S NO CRYING IN  FOOOOOOOOTBAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!"

It's a tough game. But we're in it to win. Gotta have our heads in the game at all times...and if we're tackled....get back up again and keep playing. Advancing one play at a time until we reach the end zone. And when you feel weary and discouraged? Just tell yourself, "There's NO crying in FOOOOTBALL!!!" and keep playing! :)

Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!  Hebrews 12:2-3

My Own Little World

There is GOODNESS in you.
Contrary to worldly belief?  That goodness is not in there to satisfy our own wants and needs.  If only we could be fully aware of what it is that inside of us.

That goodness is there in ABUNDANCE so that we can GIVE IT AWAY....to share it with others.  God put it there.  He put His peace there so the world might KNOW Peace.  He put His grace there so that the world might KNOW Grace.  He put His Truth there so that the world might KNOW Truth.  He put His love there so that the world might KNOW Love.  All that goodness stored up inside of US-------for a purpose.

That we might truly know Him, yes.  But for a GREATER purpose.
.....that the world might know Him.
I tell my children they may be the only gospel some may ever read.  The only Jesus some may ever see.  That when people look at THEM?  They are to see the One who can turn their world upside down and make it right.    The One who can do the extraordinary and the unimaginable!  The One who can give hope to the hopeless.  Wholeness to the broken.  Healing to the hurting.  Peace to the restless.  The One who can do miracles.  The One who can do the impossible.

You have something to give away.  Something to leave behind.

Today my daughter and I were at NTB having the oil changed on my vehicle.  An elderly man came into the waiting room and immediately my daughter began making conversation with him.  He sat on the edge of his seat.  He seemed eager for something.  He smiled as he soaked in all of her many words like a sponge.  He laughed as she talked.  We ended up ministering to that man.  She and I.  Her in her own little way and I in mine.

He ended up buying her a sprite and himself a coke.  They both sat there side by side sipping their drinks.  As I sat there and looked at Abby's new friend I had to smile.  I thought of how many times we can be in a room full of people or even just ONE lonely soul and miss an opportunity to minister to them.  I doubt that man will forget her little face and the words we left behind with him.  How could one forget?
After all---the word is ALIVE.

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]

We become so absorbed in the things that concern us and before we know it have come to the end of the day having given NOTHING away.  Pursuing what will only be of benefit to us.

Colossians 3:1-2 So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.

And from HIS perspective?  We are to be BUSY about our Father's business.  Giving away what was meant to be given away.  Living our lives DELIBERATELY and ON PURPOSE.

Everywhere we go.....sharing the abundance of our hearts with those around us.

Always keeping open hands, open hearts and open door.

And in the waiting room at NTB this morning I thought of the lyrics to Matthew West's song.
I was reminded in that moment that life is not about me. It's not even about the things that are concerning me or hurting me.  It's about a greater purpose.  He has come that we might have life and have it ABUNDANTLY.  (John 10:10)
Not just for us.  But to give away.  There's eternal significance to our life here on earth.

If we open our eyes and are aware of what is outside our OWN little world?

We'll see people hurting.
People in need of just a smile.
People desperate for some grace.
People desperate for hope.
People desperate to KNOW what it is to be FULLY alive.
People who have never known JOY.
People who have never known peace.
There are plenty of people who need to hear it and enough of it to go around.

And we have it to give!

 My Own Little World
In my own little world it hardly ever rains
I’ve never gone hungry, always felt safe
I got some money in my pocket, shoes on my feet
In my own little world
Population: me

I try to stay awake during Sunday morning church
I throw a twenty in the plate, but I never give ’til it hurts
I turn off the news when I don’t like what I see
It’s easy to do when it’s
Population: me

What if there’s a bigger picture?
What if I’m missing out?
What if there’s a greater purpose
I could be living right now
Outside my own little world

when i Stopped at a red light, looked out my window
I saw a cardboard sign, said “Help this homeless widow”
And above that sign was the face of a human
and I thought to myself, “God, what have I been doing?”
So I rolled down the window and I looked her in the eye
i thought how many times have I just passed her by?
I gave her some money then I drove on through
And my own little world reached
Population: two

What if there’s a bigger picture?
What if I’m missing out?
What if there’s a greater purpose
I could be living right now
Outside my own little world

Father break my heart for what breaks Yours
Give me open hands and open doors
and Put Your light in my eyes and let me see
That my own little world is not about me
